Soccer Teams Cap Spring Season With SoccerFest Double Header On Saturday
  • Complete Information On SoccerFest
    The UMass men's and women's soccer teams will cap their spring seasons this Saturday afternoon with exhibition games against the Western Mass Pioneers and the Adirondack Lynx highlighting the Sport Management Department's annual SoccerFest. The men's game will kick off at 1 PM, while the women's game will begin at approximately 3:30 PM. Both games will take part at Rudd Field. The UMass Men's team is coming off the most successful season in the program's history as it advanced to the NCAA Final Four. The men's game will feature a special ceremony honoring the 75th anniversary of the soccer program at the university, while the women's game will feature special Mother's Day Weekend festivities during the game.     UMass Women's Soccer Team Holds Annual Banquet

    The University of Massachusetts women's soccer team held its annual banquet on Saturday, Apr. 12, to commemorate a tremendous 2007 season. The luncheon, held at the top of the campus center, began with a slide show followed by Head Coach Jim Rudy's season review, an underclass presentation, senior recognition, and senior rebuttal before concluding with team awards. The outstanding season was highlighted by an undefeated nonconference record, Coach Rudy's 300th career win, and a second-consecutive winning record. (more)

    UMass Women's Soccer Signs Seven To National Letters Of Intent
    UMass women's soccer head coach Jim Rudy has announced that seven future Minutewomen have signed National Letters of Intent. Amanda Carvalho, Meghan Collins, Lindsey Diorio, Rachel Miranda, Natalie Muka, Katie Muller and Maura Romano will all join the squad for the 2008 season. The class is made up of three forwards, three midfielders/defenders, and a goalkeeper.

    Two Minutewomen Named to NSCAA/adidas Scholar Honorable Mention
    Senior defender Kaelyn Caldwell and junior defender Vanessa Patry were named to the NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention team today. The Minutewomen are among many of the top women's soccer players on the east coast that maintain a high GPA in addition to playing well on the soccer field.
