         <description><![CDATA[Senior Christina DeRosa (Sound Beach, N.Y.) led the Minutewomen in an eighth-place finish in the women's ECAC Championship race, while sophomore Andrew McCann (Fayettville, N.Y.) headed the men's team and led them to a fifth-place finish in the men's IC4A Championship Race Saturday in the Bronx. Members of the men's team also participated in the Coach's Race on Saturday, another of the three races held in Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday. Kevin Johnson (Ludlow, Mass.) won the Coach's Race placing first overall and finishing the race in 26 minutes and 29 seconds.]]></description>

Fordham University will host the ECAC women's championship as well as the IC4A men's championship races at local Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Both teams are coming off strong performances towards the end of their seasons and a solid showing at the NCAA Regional Qualifier last weekend.]]></description>

Both teams are coming off of impressive performances in the last few weeks. The men's team tied for third at the A-10 Championships and placed third at the Albany Invitational. The women's team has been led in a big way by senior captain Christina DeRosa (Sound Beach, N.Y.). DeRosa has brought home numerous honors over the past few weeks including the A-10 Championship Cross Country Championship Individual Title on October 27th.]]></description>

The men's team, led by junior Peter Fortunato, came in third among 26 teams capping off a terrific weekend for the UMass cross country teams. For DeRosa, this was the second time in her career that she won an event and her time of 17:21.7 was a personal-best time at the race.]]></description>

Senior Christina DeRosa was named the women's Performer of the Week, while freshmen Kris Carle and Lauren Stocker were named Rookies of the Week. Carle helped the men's team to a third place finish - the highest mark since 1993, while DeRosa and Stocker led the Minutewomen to a 26th-place finish. Both teams will return to action this Saturday at the Albany Invitational.]]></description>

Approximately 50 teams will be competing Friday in Bethlehem, Pa., and this will be the 33rd year Lehigh has hosted the Invitational which is considered one of the largest early season races in the country. Both the men's and women's teams will be looking to improve their finishes from the last time they attended the Invitational in 2005.]]></description>
