Stanford (46-12) is the top seed in the region and will play fourth-seeded Lehigh (38-15-1) Friday at 2:30 PM. The Cardinal are the No. 12 national seed. The regional (May 16-18) is double-elimination and runs through Sunday at the UMass Softball Complex. The winner of the Amherst Regional will match up with the winner of the College Station, Tx., Regional between No. 5 Texas A&M, Stephen F. Austin, Louisiana Tech and Auburn in the Super Regionals. <b>Tickets for the Amherst Regional will go on sale through the UMass Athletic Ticket Office Monday morning at 9 a.m. EST. The top performance of the day came from red-shirted freshman Shiyi Zan who placed seventh in the 5K. With a time of 17:08.64, Zan now holds the fifth fastest time at UMass and qualified for the ECAC Championships. For the men, the top performance of the day came from the trio of sophomore Nicolai Naranjo, senior Nils Fischer, and sophomore Jonathan Pierce. Naranjo took first place in the 5K with a time of 14:22.57, while Fischer took third place in 14:29.40. Pierce finished sixth with a time of 14:36.84. Together, the three scored half of the total points for UMass and all qualified for the IC4A Championships.]]></description>
