![]() ![]() Soccer Teams Cap Spring Season With SoccerFest Double Header On Saturday The UMass men's and women's soccer teams will cap their spring seasons this Saturday afternoon with exhibition games against the Western Mass Pioneers and the Adirondack Lynx highlighting the Sport Management Department's annual SoccerFest. The men's game will kick off at 1 PM, while the women's game will begin at approximately 3:30 PM. Both games will take part at Rudd Field. The UMass Men's team is coming off the most successful season in the program's history as it advanced to the NCAA Final Four. The men's game will feature a special ceremony honoring the 75th anniversary of the soccer program at the university, while the women's game will feature special Mother's Day Weekend festivities during the game. Stifling Defense Lifts No. 20 UMass Softball Over Fordham 2-0 In A-10 Quarterfinals Behind a stifling defensive showing, the 20th-ranked Massachusetts Softball team (37-11) defeated Fordham (34-29) 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship Thursday in Charlotte, N.C. Sophomore Jessica Serio went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI as the Minutewomen move into the A-10 Semifinals. Top-seeded UMass will play No. 3 seed Charlotte on Friday at 2 p.m. Coach's Caravan Underway: Meet-N-Greets With Kellogg On May 21 & 22 Meet Derek Kellogg and hear more about his plans for UMass men's basketball. Minutemen Travel To Rhode Island For Three Games This Weekend UMass baseball (16-22, 9-12 A-10) hits the road this weekend for a crucial three-game Atlantic 10 series at Rhode Island (25-21-1, 12-8-1 A-10). The series commences on Friday with first pitch slated for 3 p.m. at Bill Beck Field in Kingston, R.I. Saturday's game begins at 1 p.m. and the series concludes on Sunday with a noon contest.
